I really enjoyed this book. The author brings out a lot of history of San Francisco and the Seals, it has really two murder mysteries, great characters, and you felt like you were in San Francisco in 1957. I couldn't put it down and read it in one day. This is supposed to be the first book in a trilogy. I will definitely buy the next two.

Book Reviews
** SPOILER ALERT ** Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book. I almost felt like I could relate to some of the characters and I loved some of the detail that was put into describing the people and places. I also loved some of the ideas that came from the author. I'd never head that men were like bananas. That was a new one. Haha...
I do have to say that I felt a little frustrated at the end. I confess that I am all about the sappy, cheesy endings and know that this is probably how reality would be, but was still surprised by how the author chose to end this story. I felt frustrated for Tom, and for me having read this whole book about how much he cared about Ericka just to have it all end. But looking past that, I still was engrossed in the book and am recommending it to some friends.
The Illusion Of Certainty is author Greg Messel's third novel. Messel outline the story of two average people, who experience a little more adversity and hardship than most people. The first story, is about Alex, who is young lawyer in Oregon who falls in love with a police officer who helps him after his accident. The second story is of CFO Marc, who appears to have a wonderful life, living in an upscale neighborhood married to his college sweetheart. But things go awry when his wife's behavior suffers a rapid change. The point of the two stories is to show readers how easily life really is anything but certain. You don't want to miss a page of Greg Messel's The Illusion of Certainty!
Highly recommend
I greatly enjoyed reading this book "The Illusion of Certainty"; it was a wonderful romance story that makes you think about what is important in life. Not everything in life is certain and the one thing that does matter is the human connection. With all the technology that is available in the modern world, it is hard to remember that sometimes the only comfort comes from the human touch. "The Illusion of Certainty" is one of those books that I would recommend to anyone; it really is a great read!
